Western Group of Temples, Khajuraho

Here are the Western Group you will see some of the most sensational temples of the world.

Lakshman Temple

The Lakshmana Temple is a 10th-century Hindu temple built by Yashovarman located in Khajuraho, India. Dedicated to Vaikuntha Vishnu – an aspect of Vishnu.

Kandariya Mahadev Temple

The Kandariya Mahadeva Temple meaning “the Great God of the Cave”, is the largest and most ornate Hindu temple in the medieval temple group found at Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh, India. It is considered one of the best examples of temples preserved from the medieval period in India.

Devi Jagadambi Temple

Devi Jagadambika temple, in a group to the north, is one of the most finely decorated temples at Khajuraho, with numerous erotic carvings. It is named after Jagdamba, a Hindu goddess related to Parvati. Three bands of carvings encircle the body of the temple. In the sanctum is an enormous image of the Goddess (Devi).

Varaha Temple

The Varaha Temple at Khajuraho enshrines a colossal monolithic image of Varaha, the boar incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This temple depicts Varaha as a purely animal form. The temple is located in the Western Group of Temple Complex Khajuraho Group of Monuments, a World Heritage Site inscribed by UNESCO in 1986 in Khajuraho.

Vamana Temple

Vamana temple (वामन मंदिर) is a Hindu temple dedicated to Vamana, an avatar of the god Vishnu. The temple was built between assignable to circa 1050-75. It forms part of the Khajuraho Group of Monuments, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Javari Temple

The Javari Temple in Khajuraho, India, is a Hindu temple, which forms part of the Khajuraho Group of Monuments, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built between c. 975 and 1100 A.D.

The temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity Vishnu.The main idol of the temple is broken and headless.

Brahma Temple

Brahma Temple is a ninth or early tenth century temple and is located at Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh, India. Although titled after the Hindu god Brahma, the temple is dedicated to Shiva. This temple, along with many others form the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Khajuraho Group of Monuments.
